One of the things we do as a squadron here is fly American flags on combat missions, and have certificates made to go with it to prove its authenticity. We had some of our guys that were going out fly one for you, as a way of saying thanks for sending us DVDs. We really appreciate people that are willing to take time to remember us while we're deployed.

I'm sending you squadron patches also. The bigger patch is the newest one we adopted. It's actually the original design of the Vietnam patch, except brown in color since we are deployed to Iraq. Marble Mountain, Vietnam is where my squadron was born, and we have been extremely active since.

We are a light attack helicopter unit, and there seems to be a high demand for us pretty much everywhere. We use the AH-1W Super Cobras and the UH-1N Huey gunships. (Yes the old Hueys are still in the fight!) I had your flag flown out of a Huey. I'm a little more partial to them. The shoulder patch is our logo, and unique to our unit as well.

Thank you every much, alot of the guys out here with me are also avid hunters and will be thrilled to be able to watch these dvd's. And I know there are alot of us out here that are just itching to get back home so we can get our weapons out and do some shooting. The dvd's will definatly bring a smile to alot of our faces, thanks alot. Everyone out here is more grateful for everyone's support back home than most of you will know. Hello, thank you very much. I run convoy security here so I get to see every part of Iraq, but I've only been to the Green Zone once, and unfortunately that was in August when I was in the Baghdad Hospital. I was injured after being thrown from my Humvee when it hit a pot hole filled with explosives.

I wanted to write and say thanks for the DVD's that you sent to me while I was deployed to Iraq. A few years ago I had the chance to hunt plains game in South Africa and someday hope to go back to hunt Cape Buffalo. So when I wrote and asked for a video on hunting Africa I was greatly suprised that within two weeks you not only sent one but four DVD's. Myself and many of the guys and even some of the gals spent a lot of time watching those and I can not even express how much pleasure this brought to some of us, and what it did for mine and others morale.

I had the opportunity to have a few flags flown on a mission on the 4th of July and wanted your company to have one to let you know how much this meant to myself and some others. We were at Al Asad Airfield along the Euphrates river between Baghdad and Syria. I have also sent a picture of myself and the guys who work with me, maintaing the Egress system (Ejection System) on the A-10 Warthog. Again, thanks so much for supporting us and the troops, this means a lot.

Phil I just wanted to say thanks for sending out those DVDs. I didn't get much sleep the night I got them. I hadn't seen anything to do with hunting in over 2 months, so needless to say I watched them right away. I should be out of here soon so maybe these DVDs will keep me tied over until I get home and can get out in the woods. Thanks again.
