Fishing Description

Your day of fishing begins with you collected at your Bangkok hotel by a member of our Charter's courteous staff. From there you will travel to the Ban Pakong River in the Chachoengsao province by air-conditioned vehicle. The river is about forty minutes from downtown Bangkok.

While fishing for the Giant Freshwater Stingray you will see some of the most awe-inspiring scenery and wildlife as well as a host of sacred Buddhist temples, all that line the banks of the Ban Pakong River.

Fishing is based from the riverbank with baits being taken by boat out into the middle of the river, a distance of 300 plus meters. With extremely strong leaders of 500g plus, the baits are then anchored to the riverbed in an attempt to hook one of the large, giant freshwater stingray, for which this stretch of the river is now famous.

Once the bait is taken, you will board a boat to take your fight to the fish. Battles from this prehistoric giant are typically long and protracted affairs, sometimes lasting for hours, and requiring the combined effort of you and several of your guides. The sheer size of these fish coupled with their extraordinary power makes this quite possibly the ultimate freshwater angling experience!

The utmost care and respect is shown towards these predatory giants by our passionate, conservation minded team throughout the capture and release process, with all fish safely released unharmed after accurate measurements and other scientific data have been recorded.

Note: There are two rivers we fish for the Giant Freshwater Stingray; the Ban Pakong River which originates in the North, and the Maeklong River which originates in the Northwest. Each river has a different source. Prior to your arrival our guides will check the conditions of both rivers, then deciding on which will give you the highest chances of success.

Getting There

After arriving in Bangkok, check into your hotel. A representative of the charter company will contact you at the hotel.

Included in the price:

• Pick-up from your Bangkok hotel by a representative in an air conditioned vehicle.
• All tackle and equipment. Fishing six 100lb class stand-up rods coupled with six two speed multipliers.
• All terminal tackle and baits.
• The use of one boats (30ft) throughout the day equipped with Life jackets.
• A minimum of three guides to assist with all angling requirements.
• The duration of the daily trip is ten hours excluding traveling times.
• Return transfer to your Bangkok hotel in air conditioned vehicle.

• Lodging, drinks, meals and travel charges incurred before and after the contracted period of the fishing trip, or because of national holidays
