Fishing Description

Sixty miles south of Goose Bay, Labrador, Canada lies the headwaters of the world renowned Eagle River. Our outfitters lodge is located at a narrow section of the lake with moving water directly in front providing for some great fly fishing for huge Eastern brook trout, and casting for Northern pike.

Eagle lake forms the headwaters of Eagle River. Although primarily freestone there are numerous limestone like areas providing excellent dry fly, wet fly and nymph fly fishing opportunities.

Traveling in stable Gander River Boats, your guide will take you to distant inlets and outlets where you can choose to fish the numerous pools from the boat, or wade fish.

Brook Trout feed on stone flies, mayflies and caddis flies which abound and make-up the trout's main diet.

For the adventuresome angler there are still many virgin waters to explore in our fishing areas.

Camp & Accommodations

The double A frame fishing lodge offers all aspects of home comfort for the angler with six double occupancy bedrooms, each complete with full bathroom facilities, including showers. Twenty-four hour electricity is supplied by generating system. Hearty home cooked meals are prepared by locally trained cooks.

Getting There

The best routing to Goose Bay from most points in the USA is via Air Canada and its partner airlines in the United States.

Upon arrival in Goose Bay, you will require an overnight stay at a local hotel. Our outfitter arranges block rates and can assist you with your lodging needs. They also meet your incoming flight and provide ground transportation while in Goose Bay.

Pre-arranged float equipped aircraft will transport you and your party to the lodge early Sunday morning.

Floatplane operation in and out of Goose Bay is subject to visual flight rules. We are not responsible for accommodations in Goose Bay made necessary by delays due to poor flying weather. Your rate will not be reduced if for any reason your arrival in Goose Bay is delayed or if poor weather prevents you from getting to camp. By the same token, you will not be charged for extra time spent at the lodge due to inclement weather.
