- Hunt Description
-
We hunt in various areas in the high Caucasian mountains which are about 300 km from Baku on the
border of Dagestan Russia. The hunting takes place at an altitude of 9,000 to 10,000 feet and is
conducted from a fly camp. The hunting methods are spot & stalk or drives. In some parts of
the hunting area it is possible to use horses.
Our hunting area has the biggest East Caucasian or Dagestan Tur with very large, heavy horns, 38" plus with
a 100% success rate. Lower on the mountains at about 6,000-7,000 feet you can hunt the Caucasian
Chamois (100% success rate), wild boar, and on rare occasions the opportunity to take a Mideastern Brown
Bear may present itself.
You must be in very good physical condition for this hunt.
A typical shot is 300-400 yards. Bow hunting is a possibility but your professional hunter reserves
the right to finish with his rifle.
As in most Asian and European countries your hunting party will be accompanied by a local game keeper.
You should give them a small tip like $10 or a knife.
Azerbaijan is a safe, Muslim country and our outfitter has strong government connections. Russian and
English (by young people) are spoken.
