- Hunt Description
-
British Columbia holds three of the top ten black bears in the SCI record book
These guided spring black bear hunts are spot and stalk hunts — no baiting here.
Hunts are done on old logging cut blocks, south facing slopes, and along old logging
trails. This time of year, being just out of their dens, the black bears are looking
for grass to eat to help jump start their digestive systems.
The hunt takes place out of Francois Lake, or Collins Lake.
The bear population is very high so you can expect a 95% - 100% success rate on an opportunity
to take a black bear. In fact most likely you'll have a chance at multiple bears and
for an additional fee you can take a second black bear.
