- Hunt Description
-
The Western Canada Moose is one of four species of moose in North America and
is the second largest behind the Alaska-Yukon Moose. British Columbia holds
nearly all the records in SCI for the top 40 taken.
The area we hunt consistently gives up 50"+ Western Canada Moose, with an overall
success rate of around 80%. The largest taken so far with one of our guides is
68".
Hunts can be done on quads or ATVs, in 4x4 hunting trucks or by spot and stalk
while walking and hiking — and of course calling them during the rut.
In fact when the Moose are in the rut one of our favorite ways to hunt
them is by calling them as we hike along rivers and lakes, staying at a
different cabin each night.
A black bear is a great add on to this hunt as they are often spotted in
the berry patches. Whitetail Deer and Mule Deer are also possible add ons.
Should you shoot out early you can take it easy and relax at the
lodge, site see on ATV's, or do some fishing. Or our outfitter can take you back to
the airport.
Bowhunters are welcome and in fact our outfitter is an avid bow hunter himself.
Our outfitter will refund $2,500 if a moose is not taken.
