If you know your western history you know that Lincoln County New Mexico is famous for the Lincoln
County Wars, Billy The Kid and Sheriff Pat Garrett. But it's also known for its elk hunting.
The area we hunt is near the town of Corona on a ranch over 7,000 acres in size. It is one of the
only ranches in the area to have elk tags. And because of the high population of elk our outfitter
gets depredation permits which allow us to run rifle hunts during the rut!
In addition the ranch backs up to the National Forest on which no elk hunting is allowed.
The terrain is made up of sage and cholla covered rolling hills, scrub oak ridges, cedar (aka juniper)
breaks and deep canyons. The average elevation of this area is 6,300 ft above sea level.
New Mexico is one of the most beautiful places in the world to hunt, and hunting elk in this
country puts you in touch with the old west.

You'll stay in either a Bed & Breakfast or a Ranch House depending on the area you'll be hunting.
Meals are typically cold ceral breakfast, sandwiches or equivalent for lunch in the field, and steak
or barbeque for dinner.

You'll fly into Albuquerque, New Mexico where you will be met by your guide and taken to the hunting area.
