Hunt Description
If you are looking for a luxury tented camp hunting safari in Namibia with the largest selection of game available then this is the hunt for you.

Namibia is renowned for certain species which are better trophies than anywhere else. These would be Kudu, Eland, Springbok, Steenbok, Gemsbok, Blue Wildebeest, Red Hartebeest and Warthog. Black Wildebeest and Blesbok did not occur here naturally 100 years ago but have been introduced successfully and for some reason have marvelous horn growth. Damara Dik Dik, Namibian Gemsbok and Hartmann Zebra only occur in Namibia so we highly recommend that you consider these two species.

Didimala is situated right where the two Eland species (Livingstone and Cape) both occur naturally. If, within the same herd you take an Eland with stripes it is considered a Livingstone Eland and without stripes is considered a Cape Eland.

SCI has just registered another Gemsbok specie for Namibia in the Record book. It is called the Namibian Gemsbok and can only be taken in the North of Namibia. It is basically the same as the Angolan animal. The horns are shorter than the Kalahari species, so the minimums to get into the Record book are a lot less.

The best way to hunt here is what we call spot and stalk. We get onto a vehicle and drive until we see the animals. If we see an animal that looks like a trophy we drive past and after checking the wind we get off the vehicle and stalk. Your PH (Professional Hunter) carries a tripod which he sets up for you. Our PH does not carry a rifle unless the hunter wants him to or we are hunting dangerous game.

On some concessions in the thick bush we also hunt from blinds. This is quite a nice alternative where you will get the opportunity to view a wide range of animals and birds from close up.

A normal hunting day is from sunup to about 11:30am. We then have brunch. We hunt again from 2:30pm until sundown.
