Hunt Description

The hunt takes place during the Red Stag roar (rut) in March and April, and in May in the beautiful high desert mountains of Patagonia Argentina. You will see and hear lots of Red Stag. The hunt can be conducted on horse back, on foot or by truck - whatever the hunter prefers.

The country you will hunt is vast mountainous brush land with nothing much growing higher then your knees. You will probably first spot the Red Stag at distances greater then 1,500 yards. Shots are usually taken at distances out past 250 yards.

After the hunt the fishing begins. An expert guide will accompany you for three days of fly fishing the crystal clear rivers and lakes of Patagonia.

The principal lakes are: Huechulafquen, Paimun, Epulafquen, Curruhé Grande, Curruhé Chico, Tromen, Escondido, Puelo and Vintter. The rivers are Chimehuin, Aluminé, Collón Curá, Catán Lil, Malleo, Quilquihue, Caleufu. We also fish in Chubut for Big Browns and have programs for Palena and Martin Lake in Chile Republic.

Camp & Accommodations

Lodging is in ranch houses with single or double bedrooms and private bathrooms. The meals are first rate; beef, barbecue, chicken, pork, pasta, salads etc. Soft drinks, beer and wine are included. Whisky, brandy, gin etc. in moderate amounts is also included.

A fly-camp hunt is also possible if preferred over the lodge.

Getting There

Fly into Buenos Aires International Airport where you will be met by a Hunt representative and taken to the Buenos Aires Domestic Airport to continue on to San Martin De Los Andes. Once in San Martin De Los Andes you will be met by your guide and transported to the hotel, hunting lodge or fly camp.
