Leupold RX-IV Rangefinder Hunting Field Test
If you've already read my Leupold RX-III Rangefinder field test , you know that I consider Leupold's RX family of rangefinders to be the finest on the market currently. If you haven't read it, you should as it goes into much greater detail then this does. Here I will only outline the differences between the two, which I prefer, and why. The RX-IV is available in two models, the RX-IV and the RX-IV Boone & Crockett Edition. The only difference is the Boone & Crocket Edition comes with a different set of reticles and and a different color scheme. How are the RX-III and RX-IV the same? They both have:
How do the RX-III and RX-IV differ?
Which one do I currently hunt with? The RX-IV, because I like the extended range capability. A lot of my hunts take place in desert or plains like environments where shooting opportunities are available at great distances. The fact that the RX-IV is available in different finishes (colors) is an added bonus. What do I consider the most important feature of the RX-IV? The TBR or True Ballistic Range. If you ever find yourself shooting at game either above you or below you, there is only one Rangefinder to consider, the RX-III or RX-IV from Leupold. No other rangefinder comes close, regardless of brand. Once again a huge two thumbs up for Leupold! Visit Leupold's Web Site for more information. Return to Hunting Field Tests |
