Leupold Cascades™ Internal Focus Porro Prism Series Binoculars Offer Stellar Image in Smaller Package

New Leupold® Green Ring™ Cascades™ binoculars feature a Porro prism design for an exceptionally bright image, along with an internal-focusing mechanism that makes them smaller and more comfortable to use than comparable Porro prism offerings now on the market for hunters, shooters and wildlife observers.

The Cascades Internal Focus Porro Prism Series is available in 8x42mm and 10x42mm models designed to deliver the outstanding 3D image and brightness typical of quality Porro prism binoculars. Normally found only in roof prism binoculars, the internal-focus feature means that the mechanism is completely enclosed, with no exterior moving parts. As a result, the Cascades are more compact, and ruggedness and waterproof performance are enhanced as well, without any loss of optical performance.

"Our new Cascades Series offers all the optical advantages for which both roof and Porro prism binoculars are prized, at a very reasonable price," said Mike Slack, marketing communications manager for Leupold. "Many traditional hunters who favor the Porro prism design might be surprised to find these advantages in a package as small as the Cascades, and will be pleasantly surprised by how comfortable and easy they are to use. This also applies to experienced birders and other wildlife observers who have used Porro prism binoculars over the years."

The 8x42mm model weighs 24.9 ounces (706 grams) and is five inches (127.0 mm) long. The 10x42mm model weighs 25.4 ounces and also measures five inches in length.

Cascades Internal Focus Porro Prism Series binoculars also feature fully multi-coated optics to enhance clarity, color fidelity and contrast while delivering a bright sight picture from dawn to dusk.

• Linear field of view: 336 feet at 1,000 yards (110 meters at 1,000 meters) for 8x42mm model; 272 feet at 1,000 yards (90 meters at 1,000 meters) for 10x42mm model
• Close focus distance: 10.8 feet (3.27 meters) for 8x42mm model; 11.1 feet (3.36 meters) for 10x42mm model
• Completely waterproof and built to meet Leupold's high standards for ruggedness
• Shock-absorbing rubber armor coating provides extra protection and helps improve the hands' grip on the binocular in wet weather
