Leupold® Continues the Evolution of the Riflescope With the Introduction of the VX®-7

Leupold® has captured the spirit of hunting with the introduction of its most advanced, top-of-the-line hunting riflescope to date. The VX®-7 riflescope incorporates groundbreaking optics technology as well as exclusive Leupold mechanical innovations to deliver an innovative new product to serious hunters all over the globe.

Leupold VX-7 & VX-7L Hunting Rifle Scope

Holding nothing back in the design of the VX-7 line, Leupold developed a riflescope incorporating new features such as the Xtended Twilight Lens System™ and SpeeDial™ adjustment system. The VX-7 also offers Leupold’s Ballistics Aiming System™, dual erector springs for superior precision and durability, Generation II Argon/Krypton waterproofing, and the Light Optimization Profile™ – the concave crescent in the bottom of the scope made famous with Leupold’s introduction of the VX-L™ riflescope.

“Whether it’s the sweltering African savannah or the numbing cold of Alaska, the VX-7 is an unmatched scope for any game anywhere in the world,” said Mike Slack, Leupold’s marketing communications manager. “When you’re on an expensive hunting expedition, the rule of thumb is to use the best optics you can afford. We are confident the VX-7 will become the standard for optical performance, ruggedness and reliability to which all other riflescopes will be measured.”

The Xtended Twilight Lens System provides the shooter with superior light transmission for world-class, low-light performance particularly in the bluish-purple light of dawn and dusk when game is most active. Ultra pure, lead free, index matched glass is precision ground and polished to provide unexcelled fine detail resolution and overall image clarity.

Other distinguishing features of the VX-7 include:

  • The Xtended Twilight Lens System’s blackened lens edges virtually eliminate residual refraction and minimize the effects of stray light for maximum photopic transmission, clarity and contrast. The lenses also feature DiamondCoat 2™ lens coatings to provide scratch resistance that exceeds military specifications while delivering a highly defined image.
  • The extreme fast-focus eyepiece allows hunters to bring game into view quickly and easily while the Alumina® rubber armored eyeguard provides comfort and safety for extreme uphill or downhill shots – even with the largest magnums.
  • Leupold’s exclusive Generation II Argon/Krypton gas blend is the last word in thermal shock resistance, and keeps the riflescope fog proof as well as waterproof. This method surpasses the industry standard of nitrogen waterproofing, which Leupold pioneered in 1947.
  • The Ballistics Aiming System’s (BAS) power selector provides users with a setting ring which includes a visual indicator for quick returns to favorite settings or to a BAS reticle power position.

All VX-7 models have a 30mm main tube machined from one piece of aircraft-grade aluminum and are finished in either satin or satin gray.

The riflescopes feature Leupold’s SpeeDial system which allows hunters faster, easier and more precise adjustments through assisted lift and lock dials, and an integral cap that allows for a secure stowage position. This unique dial design allows shooters to adjust for windage and elevation easily and securely – without the need for tools.

Conveniently located on the left side of the turret, the side focus parallax adjustment also incorporates the SpeeDial adjustment system. The adjustment focuses the target image onto the reticle for zero parallax regardless of condition. The VX-7’s titanium nitride, stainless steel-constructed mechanics include dual erector springs to ensure precise, durable adjustments for a lifetime of rugged use.

The VX-7 comes with Leupold’s Golden Ring® Custom Care Package. If the riflescope ever needs servicing, owners receive priority handling, so there’s never a wait for an operator. Owners can have loaner scopes sent anywhere in the world if necessary, and are guaranteed that the scope will be fixed within one, 24-hour period. The scopes are threaded for Alumina accessories in addition to including Alumina flip-back lens covers. Custom laser imaging is also available on the VX-7 at no additional charge.
