Apparition Excel™, Fall Flight™ Join Weatherby's SAS Line

Weatherby now offers its SAS (Semi-Automatic Shotgun) in Skyline camouflage featuring the Excel™ pattern for turkey hunters and the Fall Flight™ pattern for duck and goose hunters.

Skyline Camouflage's multi-functional camo pattern, Excel, has a three-dimensional design that incorporates shades of brown, green and gray. Especially popular in the Southeast and Northeast U.S., Excel is ideal for concealment in the woods. Skyline's Fall Flight, renowned as one of the top marsh designs ever developed for waterfowl hunters, is also effective in environments such as cornfields, flooded rice patties and cut hay fields. A favorite camo pattern choice in the Northeast and Midwest U.S., Fall Flight features nine colors with multiple layers of reeds, grass, branches and shadows that represent water and mud.

Designed to enhance the entire shooting experience, all SAS models employ a variety of features designed to make them easy to shoot, load and clean. These include:

• A modern, durable self-compensating gas system designed to ensure fast cycling of target or hunting loads. The system has an internal dampening feature to reduce felt recoil. For easy cleaning, the simple yet highly effective two-piece system can be disassembled and reassembled in a matter of seconds. The SAS easily handles 1 1/8-oz. 2 3/4-inch shells to the heaviest 3-inch duck and goose loads.
• The specially-designed drop-out trigger mechanism can be removed for cleaning by simply punching out two pins.
• Stocks have a special "shim" system that allows right- or left-handed shooters to adjust for "cast on," "cast off" or drop. This helps provide a better fit and quicker target acquisition results.
• A magazine cutoff system with smart follower allows easy, bottom-entry loading and quick load changes in the field.
• Vent-ribbed, chrome-lined barrels help dissipate heat buildup and withstand the wear and tear of high-volume shooting. Lengthened forcing cones work to lessen felt recoil, curbing shooter fatigue while improving patterns.
• Backboring to .735 helps improve shot patterns, reduce recoil and curb shooter fatigue.
