Weatherby Adds Versatile New Color to Performance Wool Outerwear Line

Weatherby has broadened the appeal of its Performance Wool outerwear with the addition of a new charcoal gray color.

Charcoal gray is designed to provide an attractive, versatile choice for both hunting and general, everyday outdoor wear. It is now available in Weatherby's popular Performance Wool Heavyweight Classis Cruiser Jacket and Heavyweight Classic Cruiser Vest.

According to Wade Krinke, Weatherby's director of soft goods, the new color responds to requests from hunters who have made Performance Wool's Heavyweight High Desert Brown camo garments their first choice in cold weather. "They asked for the same comfort and attention to detail in color that would be at home in a wide range of wearing environments," he says, "and, in our research, charcoal gray was the top choice for all-around utility."

Both the charcoal gray Heavyweight Classic Cruiser Jacket and Heavyweight Classic Cruiser Vest provide advantages, which have already established Performance Wool as a favorite for cold-weather comfort. Their 28-ounce fabric weight integrates the inherent insulating and moisture-wicking advantages of 100 percent virgin wool with the extra strength and durability of synthetic fibers (80 percent wool, 20 percent nylon blend). This, combined with a micro-weave lining of itch-proof mini-fleece, results in garments which help the wearer maintain a higher degree of warmth even when wet, as well as a greater comfort level when exertion causes sweating. In addition, the engineering of Performance Wool adds strength while providing a material, which is machine-washable with only minimum shrinkage.

The Heavyweight Charcoal Gray Classic Cruiser Jacket combines rugged weather protection with a practical design for hunters and other outdoor enthusiasts. Examples of this include serviceable buttons instead of snaps and non-binding articulated sculpted elbows for ease of movement.

In addition, the Classic Cruiser Jacket includes a full complement of pockets with carrying capacity for a wide range of equipment. Covered upper pockets provide storage for small items. Large lower cargo pockets incorporate handwarmer pockets, which also function as a closure system. In addition, the large back pocket includes a button and flap closure, making it easy to store extra gloves, a hat, maps and other items. A double front and back yoke add extra weather protection, and a traditional collar can be worn up for warmth when needed.

The Heavyweight Charcoal Gray Classic Cruiser Vest is designed for both layering and stand-alone wear. Its V-neck design features a button-down front and is cut to provide ample arm room for maximum freedom of movement. Handwarmer pockets are located behind front cargo pockets, which are designed with generous carrying capacity.
