New Range Finding Binoculars Offer Quality Optics, Precise Distance Measurement for Hunting

Wind River® Wilderness Optics introduces the RB800 and RB800C, two new range finding binoculars designed for hunters who require quality optics and accurate distance measurements in even the harshest field conditions.

"No one wants to carry one optic for range finding and another for game location. That's why our Wind River range finding binoculars combine the bright, clear optics of a high-quality binocular with laser-precise measuring capability to create a single - and surprisingly affordable - new tool for hunters," said Mike Slack, marketing communications manager for Leupold, which imports Wind River products. "Find your target, push a button and you'll get precise measurements - accurate to within half a yard - on animals as well as inanimate objects."

Both models feature an advanced laser system capable of instant and accurate measurements of a deer-sized animal from 13 yards (12 meters) to nearly 550 yards (500 meters) away. For inanimate objects such as trees or rocks, distances can be determined from 13 yards (12 meters) to more than 875 yards (800 meters).

The RB800 and RB800C are 8x32mm roof prism binoculars. With 8x optics, they provide the magnification and wide field of view suited to a broad range of hunting applications.

In addition to all the features of the RB800, the RB800C offers the benefits of a compass. A digital display - easily readable even in bright sunlight - shows the direction to the target in degrees as well as the precise range. The compass can also provide navigational assistance in the field.

Other key features of the RB800 and RB800C:

• Scan Mode, which is activated by holding down the range finding button, provides continuous range updates when tracking an animal or glassing an area
• Digital display reads in yards or meters
• Multi-coated lenses for superior clarity and contrast, and maximum light transmission
• Built for wilderness use in all conditions, with additional rubber armor coating and a waterproof design
• Lightweight (23 ounces / 652 grams) and compact (5.4 inches / 13.8 centimeters long) for easy portability in the field
